Access Exclusive: Brianna M. dishes on 'Threee'
25 years old
I (NKC), had the pleasure of sitting down with Brianna Morris during an in-studio interview. Brianna Morris is the creator/designer of Threee. Threee is an accessories company started during her junior year of college. At the time attending school in New York, Brianna returned home after her junior year. She started Threee with the returned money from her apartment deposit. When Threee first started it featured many statement pieces and avant garde accessories. Noticing that the starting pieces weren't something she would wear herself, Brianna began to use her cultural background for jewelry inspiration....
Hear Briana's Full Interview Below:
Brianna's dad is South Indian and her mother is African American. Although her father's family is very americanized, she began to explore that side of her background more during high school. Learning more about the culture, she began to fall in love with the designs and patterns. Threee's jewelry then reflected more of her Indian culture as the jewelry framework used was common to those regions, yet the colors were allowed to flow into whatever season was present. Although, Brianna doesn't name her jewelry in collections, each individual piece has a name. The names are all either Greek, Arabic or Hindi.
Her process begins with searching online for new inspiration. She looks for colors, material inspiration or something a feel she hopes to get from the pieces. At times, she'll look through materials or embellishments she already has and tries to think of new ways to rework them into the next piece. She briefly sketches her work and the rest is left to faith.
